GCC (Global Capability Centre)
A Global Capability Centre (GCC), previously called a Global In-house Centre (GIC), is a captive offshore or nearshore office that a multinational corporation establishes to deliver strategic business functions — technology, finance, analytics, legal, or operations — for the parent company's global operations. India hosts over 1,700 GCCs, heavily concentrated in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.
GCC fit-outs differ from standard commercial offices in several ways: global parent brand standards must be applied locally; headcount growth projections are aggressive; technology infrastructure requirements are significantly higher; and security and access control requirements reflect the parent company's IT policy. Design-build firms with GCC experience can navigate the dual approval process — local delivery against global brand guidelines.
