End-User Commissioning
End-user commissioning is the final stage of the commissioning process where installed systems are demonstrated to and signed off by the people who will actually operate them — facilities managers, IT teams, receptionists, and end users. It bridges the gap between technical commissioning by engineers and day-to-day building operation.
A complete end-user commissioning programme includes: a walkthrough of all MEP systems with the FM team, demonstration of BMS controls, training on AV and collaboration technology, handover of O&M manuals, warranty certificates, and as-built drawings. Projects that skip this stage inevitably generate support calls in week one. In Indian fit-outs, end-user commissioning is often compressed when the programme is behind schedule — which is precisely when it matters most.
