Green Star

Green Star is the building sustainability rating system developed by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). It rates buildings and interiors across categories including energy, water, indoor environment quality, materials, transport, and innovation. Ratings run from 4 Star (Best Practice) to 6 Star (World Leadership).

Green Star is less prevalent in India than LEED or IGBC, but is encountered in fit-out projects for Australian-headquartered companies where the parent requires Green Star parity with their domestic portfolio. The interiors tool (Green Star — Interiors) is directly applicable to Cat B fit-out projects and shares several structural similarities with LEED for Interiors v4.1.
